Onboard the Sun Princess, an array of experienced, professional and dedicated senior officers are committed to delivering the highest standards of passenger care. Led by Captain Julian Bittner, the ship’s senior officers are experienced professionals from all over the world and represent a variety of cultures and backgrounds.
The Hotel Manager is Tiziana Giardini, an Italian-born hospitality professional with over two decades of experience in the cruise industry, ranging from cruise onboard management to shore-side operations. She is responsible for the daily operations on board, overseeing the housekeeping, maintenance and quality assurance departments, as well as being the point of contact for any guest requests.
Safety and security onboard the Sun Princess is managed by Chief Security Officer Richard Gibbs. Gibbs has over 15 years of experience in the cruise industry and is responsible for training and supervising the Security Officers and ensuring that safety and security protocols are adhered to.
The Chief Engineer onboard is Boris Danilov. A Russian-born engineer with a degree in Maritime Engineering, Danilov has over 25 years of experience in the cruise industry, having worked for other major cruise lines before joining Princess Cruises. He is responsible for managing the maintenance and running of the ship’s engines and technical systems, as well as supervising the engineers and technical staff onboard.
The Sun Princess is also home to a talented group of officers from the UK, US, Canada and Australia that make up the Cruise Staff. Headed by Cruise Director Eric Smith, the Cruise Staff is responsible for entertaining the guests onboard and organizing the ship’s onboard activities, from trivia games to poolside parties.
