Eagle Farm Racecourse is set for an exciting day of racing this Wednesday, February 8. The card features a full program of nine races, with the highlight being the Listed Husson Lightning Handicap for the sprinters. Here are some tips and best bets for the day.

Race 1 – The Class 6 Plate is the opener and we’re tipping the locally trained racehorse Splendid Storm to get the win. With impressive form over the track and strong workouts in the lead up, he looks well placed to take out this event.

Race 2 – The Class 1 Handicap is a wide open race with plenty of chances. Favouring the favourite is the lightly raced Exalted King who comes off a solid second placing on debut at the track. With an experienced jockey on board, he looks ready to take out this event.

Race 3 – The Class 3 Handicap features a strong field of stayers and we’re tipping the well-bred Bold Betty to get the win. She’s been in great form throughout her career and a big run from her here would not surprise.

Race 4 – The Listed Husson Lightning Handicap is the feature event of the day and we’re tipping the consistent mare Mustagatoo to take out this event. She has a solid record over the track and distance and with a handy barrier draw she looks well placed to get the win.

Race 5 – The Benchmark 75 Handicap is a tough race and we’re leaning towards the consistent performer Escape Artist. He’s in good form and comes off a solid second-place finish in similar company here last start.

Race 6 – The Benchmark 65 Handicap is one of the most open races on the card and we’re favouring the locally trained racehorse Lucky Town. He has a great record at the track and with an experienced jockey on board, he looks set to run well.

Race 7 – The Benchmark 70 Handicap features a few chances and we’re favouring the lightly raced Princely Prince. He’s been in good form throughout his career and a big run from him here would not surprise.

Race 8 – The Benchmark 75 Handicap is another tough race and we’re leaning towards the consistent performer Go Get Her. She’s been in great form throughout her career and a big run from her here would not surprise.

Race 9 – The Benchmark 70 Handicap is the last race on the card and we’re tipping the well-bred Revenant to get the win. He has a great record over the track and distance and with a handy barrier draw he looks well placed to take out this event.
