Long-planned death revealed

Mark Mylod, the director of the HBO series ‘Succession’, recently revealed that the death of a major character was long-planned by the show’s creators. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Mylod explained that the writers had known from the beginning that this particular character would die, but they wanted to make sure that the death felt earned and impactful. Although Mylod didn’t reveal which character would meet their demise, he did say that the death would be “a significant event”.

Alternate ending in Episode 3

In addition to discussing the long-planned death, Mylod also revealed that Episode 3 of ‘Succession’ almost had a very different ending. Originally, the episode was supposed to end with a conversation between Kendall and Shiv, but the writers ultimately decided to change it. Mylod explained that the new ending, which features a confrontation between Kendall and Logan, was ultimately more satisfying.
