Former India spinner accuses Dhoni of controlling players like a remote
In a shocking revelation, former Indian spinner Murali Kartik has accused MS Dhoni, the erstwhile captain of the Indian cricket team of controlling the players like a remote. Kartik has claimed that Dhoni had the habit of giving advice to his teammates while the game was going on, thus controlling them.
Murali Kartik made these allegations during a recent podcast. According to Kartik, MS Dhoni was often seen guiding his teammates from behind the stumps. “I always found that funny because I couldn’t have imagined that someone could control things so much that even playing XI was like ‘I’m going to play this guy or not play this guy’. Players would get dropped or not get picked because of MS. I found that really strange.”

Kartik further stated that MS Dhoni would give advice to his teammates, even as the game was going on, while he was standing behind the stumps. “Even when the match was going on, he would be telling you things,” Murali said. “I found it strange because MS was essentially controlling things in the middle. He would say, ‘Tu idhar maar’ or ‘Chehere pe daal’, and things like that. It was like he was controlling the players with a remote control.”
Kartik, who played eight Test matches and 37 ODIs for India, said that he found Dhoni’s behavior strange because he had never seen anyone else do that. “In all my years of cricket, I never saw anyone do that, but MS Dhoni did it. He controlled a lot of players, bowlers, batsmen, and a lot more which, for me, was quite strange.”
