About the Weda Bay Nickel Mine

Located on the eastern coast of Halmahera Island in North Maluku province, Indonesia, Weda Bay is a large nickel ore deposit set to become one of the world’s largest producers of nickel laterites. According to Eramet (a French mining and metallurgical company), the Weda Bay mine is home to one of the largest nickel deposits in the world, with an estimate of around 4.6 million tons of nickel resources.

Thiess to Provide Haulage Services

Thiess will provide full services for the haulage of nickel ore, including overburden removal, vehicle maintenance, and fuel supply, using a fleet of 20 dump trucks and four excavators.
